Kelompok Peduli Lingkungan Belitung (KPLB) Belitung Environmental Care Group

Kelompok Peduli Lingkungan Belitung (KPLB) Belitung Environmental Care Group Project Summary: The foundation of this KPLB and its activities is because Belitung has enormous environmental threats, especially from tin mining, which currently has been exploited from offshore mining. In addition, Belitung forest reserves are now almost gone and changed with the entry of large-scale oil palm plantation industry that greatly affects the availability of ground water, rivers, as well as Belitung's macro climate as a small island.

Therefore it is very important to do environmental conservation, build community awareness, and create alternative livelihoods that are environmentally sound for the community.
