Benefits of Komtrax

Full machine monitoring Get detailed operation data to know when your machines are used and how productive they are.

Total Fleet Management Keep track of the location of your machines at all times and discourage unapproved usage or theft.

Complete machine status Receive warnings, alerts and cautions, via a web site or by e-mail, to help with maintenance planning and for longer machine life.

Komtrax helps you to: • Work more effectively • Save time • Maximise your profits

5

Full Machine Monitoring Fleet summary - The daily “working status” chart shows your complete fleet, and reports on how many hours each machine works every day.

Inactive machines - The “no usage” map instantly shows if any machines are not at work. With this data, you can investigate, correct the causes and maximise your profits.

Machine working time - With the “daily working record” chart, you get precise engine running time data. When your machine was started and when it was shut down, as well as total engine running time. The chart will also highlight any unauthorised use of your machine.

6

Annual working time - You can even get a yearly overview of machine usage with a month by month summary of the engine’s operating time. This chart allows you to better manage your machine’s performance.

Machine efficiency - For construction machines, you can check the difference between engine total operating hours and the time spent on actual work. This chart shows you how efficient your machine really is. Idling engines will become obvious and you can apply cost saving solutions. Please check page 14 & 15 for information available by machine.

Fuel consumption - For crawler excavators, this chart lets you monitor monthly fuel usage. It helps you schedule fuel deliveries and calculate total costs for a job site.

7

Total Fleet Management Machine location - The “SMR / Working / Location” chart immediately shows your machine’s actual location. Longitude and latitude, along with a map visual that can be zoomed down to 100 m to allow reading of street names. The GPS data can be entered into your vehicle satellite navigation system.

Fleet location - The machine list instantly gives you the location of all your machines, even if they are working in another country. To quickly sort your machines by sites, Komtrax lets you add your own job sites to the machine list.

Protection from unauthorised use - The “engine lock” function is used by your local Komatsu distributor. It allows you to program when a machine can or cannot be started. With this function, your machine is protected from unauthorised use. The “engine lock” can also be monitored from the machine list screen.

Crawler excavator’s monitor panel

Unlock your engine directly from the remote monitor panel by entering your password. (Available today on most crawler excavators and one bulldozer)

8

Operating area control - Your local Komatsu distributor can further help you manage your machines with the “geo-fence” function. First, enter an operating area for your machine in Komtrax. You will then receive a special message when your machine moves in or out of the determined area, via the web site or by e-mail.

E-mail notification

Machine tracking during transport - When your machine is transported, Komtrax sends travel messages to the web site or by e-mail to inform you of its progress, and confirms when it reaches its destination.

E-mail notification

Machine movement alarm - The “moved machine” chart allows you to immediately see which of your machines are moving. The chart summarises all the travel alarms for your fleet. You can easily highlight any unexpected machine movement.

9

Complete Machine Status Cautions - Komtrax displays the type of caution, the time it occurred, and its duration.

E-mail notification

Maintenance planning - To increase productivity and improve maintenance planning, alerts indicate when items such as filters or oil must be replaced.

Each replacement of a maintenance item is recorded in the monitor panel, and that information is sent to Komtrax. In Komtrax, you can then view the complete maintenance history of your machine. Load graph

Over-heating - Komtrax monitors the temperature of the engine coolant. A warning is displayed if it exceeds a limit. This early information can protect you from expensive repairs.

Excavator only

Working conditions - Knowing hydraulic pressure levels and your machine loads helps you to monitor working conditions. Early warning signs of a potential overload or under load can tell you if you are using the correct machine size for the task.
