Lupo del Ciafone Offida Rosso Dop WINE FROM ORGANIC FARMING THE VINEYARD The grapes come from only a vineyard. Its exposure is South. The training method is “cordone speronato”. There are at least 4.500 grapes for hectare (1.800 grapes for acre). THE GRAPE VARIETIES The grapes used are Montepulciano (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). THE HARVEST The grapes are hand picked later. After grapes pruning. THE WINE MAKING Maceration takes place in steel vessels at 28° C (82°F) for 3 weeks. This wine has been aged in oak barrels for at least 18 months. Once bottled it has to age for 6 more months. THE WINE TASTING A wonderful wine with noble ruby and garnet colours. Smells of red fruit, fruit jam and variety of impressions which developed during aging in Barriques. Warm and smooth, complex and with a considerable length, this wine has a round structure.
