MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Compensation:

Typical starting salary is $12.50 - $17.50 hourly

Job Summary: This work involves the maintenance and mechanical upkeep and repair of buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment. Work may be performed alone or as part of a work crew. 

Essential Duties: Installs or supervises the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of various revenue control equipment including ticket dispensers, card readers, electronic boards/relays, ground loops, CPUs, and other electronic equipment.



Installs, maintains and repairs on-street meters; accompanies contract meter collection agency staff using handheld or other device to complete audit; clears meter jams.



Replaces, installs or makes repairs to equipment and facilities including: plumbing fixtures, electrical switches and lighting fixtures, electrical circuits and fixtures. Inspects, adjusts and repairs doors including repairing and replacing locks, push bars and re-keying doors. Repairs, installs and moves office equipment, machinery such as desks, file cabinets, boxes, bookcases and similar items.



Builds forms and repairs damaged concrete and asphalt surfaces including mixing and pouring concrete and surface finishing.



Drives or operates trucks, power mowers, snow removal equipment, and various hand and power tools used in building and grounds maintenance. Maintains vehicles and equipment to ensure their safe operation; changes and adds fluids.



Responds to after-hour emergency calls to repair any and all equipment as well as secure or replace broken glass or make other emergency repairs, as required.



Paints facilities using brush, roller or sprayer; includes taping and applying weather stripping and pressure cleans buildings and sidewalks. Inspects the work of painting contractors for workmanship and completeness. Maintains two-way radio equipment Assists ACDA customers with inquiries and complaints; refers to appropriate sources as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Two years of buildings and grounds maintenance experience working in and around customers, patrons and clients; possession of valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Experience in maintaining and repairing electronic equipment highly desirable.

Physical Requirements: This job requires repetitive walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, flexing, sitting, standing, crawling, talking, driving and related activities. Work is performed in and on parking garage surfaces, roofs, sidewalks and involves negotiating hard, slippery and uneven surfaces. Work Environment: Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions with exposure to sun, rain, snow, sleet, wind, extreme cold, heat, bugs, dust, traffic fumes, elevated noise levels from vehicles and equipment.
