Evaluation:

The marking scheme for the course will be as follows: Assignments 10% Tests 30% Mid-year exam 30% Final exam 30% Students must obtain a grade of at least 40% in their term work (assignments and tests) in order to pass the course. The grading scheme will not be changed.

Assignments:

In each term there will be approximately 9 weekly assignments. Assignments will be posted on the course website, and will be due at the beginning of the specified tutorial. The best 7 assignments from each term will be used in calculating the final grade. Late assignments will not be graded.

Tutorials:

You should attend all tutorials. 1

Tests:

There will be two 80-minute tests given in the regular lectures on the following dates: October 8, November 19 February 11, March 18 There will be no makeup tests.

Exams:

There will be a three hour mid-year exam scheduled by the university during the fall examination period, and a three hour final exam scheduled by the university during the winter semester examination period. Exam dates cannot be changed by the instructor. Students wishing to see their exam papers must make an appointment within two weeks of the exam.

Notes:

No calculators will be allowed for tests or examinations.
