T IMEOUT A PRIL M EETING H IGHLIGHTS

M AY 2006

The regular April meeting of chapter 31 was held at the Beaverton Library. V.P. Terry White brought the meeting to order. ◊ No treasurers report was available. ◊ Correspondence: Ch. 31 received a letter from Ch. 50 inviting our chapter to their annual BBQ to be held August 13th in Langley, B.C. Please let Michael Harbott know of your intentions to attend by June 30th. You can e-mail him at [email protected] ◊Terry announced that a recording secretary is still needed to take notes at the regular meetings. A very simple job– record minutes at the meetings and e-mail them to Mary G. who will put it in the newsletter and webpage. The person need not be available for every meeting as others can be enlisted to help as needed. Please volunteer! A membership chair was announced- John Bailey will be taking on this position as soon as he moves back to the area in early summer. Congratulations John! ◊Tom Hammond presented a very delightful, informative and educational Power Point program on antique horological tools. Tom is a very knowledgeable member in this area and even had the wife of several members looking on as he demonstrated gear cutting with one of his tools. Thank you Tom for sharing your collection with Chapter 31. ◊The May meeting will be held during the Regional in Kent, Wa. Red caps will be needed. Check your registration form for contact information. ◊A request for members to present programs at future meetings was put out at the meeting. Contact Terry White or Harold Baesler.

P RESIDENTIAL M ESSAGE Our May meeting will be at the NW Regional in Kent, Washington, May 19-20-21st. I encourage all of you to consider attending this regional as we are cohost. This will be when our new slate of officers will be installed. I tentatively scheduled our Chapter 31 meeting at 3 P.M. on Saturday, May 20th. The location will be determined once we arrive and I will leave this information at the registration desk. I have asked Bill Bryan from National to do the installation and am awaiting confirmation. As with any organization, it takes volunteers to operate effectively and efficiently. If any of you are not on a committee or a position of leadership, please consider volunteering. An immediate need for volunteers is at the NW Regional in Kent. Help is needed Friday night with Mart set-up as well as in other areas during the event. HAROLD BAESLER

P ROGRAMS …….

There is no May Program or meeting due to the Regional in Kent, Wa. The June Program will be by John Meisner and will be on Canadian Clocks. For this program all are encouraged to bring Canadian clocks from their own collections for Show N’ Tell. This should be a great program as all that John has favored us in the past were. I am working on the July program.
