MIDDLE SCHOOL SILVER STAAR ACADEMY June 6 First Day of Silver STAAR ACADEMY June 24 Last Day of Silver STAAR ACADEMY Program Site Lincoln Middle School OVERVIEW SCHOOL DAY Classes will be held Monday-Friday beginning at 8:15 a.m. and ending at 2:50 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided free of charge. Student attendance is critical TRANSPORTATION Transportation will be provided to and from Lincoln Middle School REGISTRATION AND TUITION/FEES There is no tuition, bus or processing fees for any students in the Silver STAAR Academy. CRITERIA FOR ENROLLMENT & ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 8th grade students who need to take summer of STAAR in reading and/or math Summer Instruction: Class size will be limited STAAR Academy is designed to help students prepare for the STAAR reading and math tests and focuses instruction on the individual learning needs of each student REGISTRATION PROCEDURES 1. Teachers give qualifying students the McAllen ISD STAAR Summer Academy flyer and application. 2. Parent completes the application and returns it to the current teacher. (If the counselor receives this from the parent, s/he sends it to the teacher). 3. The teacher checks the form, signs it, and submits to the counselor. 4. The counselor checks the form, signs it, and submits it to the counselor. 5. The counselor checks the form, signs it, and submits to the data processor. 6. The data processor enters the information into the mainframe system and files the application to be delivered to Lincoln Middle School on Thursday, May 30, 2013 by noon.
