MIFUR 2012/2013 Trends Colour, Vintage and Femininity are the inspirations behind the trends for next winter. The trends are by:

From the Evans McDaniel Studio for IFTF – International Fur Trade Federation for winter 2012/2013, three trends arrive at the International Fur and Leather Exhibition: Modern Bohemia, Folkloric Mod and Ladylike Kitsch. MIFUR leaves behinds silhouettes that are somewhere between masculine and feminine: furs for the next season will be a resounding tribute to femininity, colourful reworkings of vintage models. Colour, positivity, optimism and elegance merge in a meeting of different, multi-coloured cultures. The key to a better future is improving on the inspirational excellence of the past, reproposing the youthful ’60s and creating a wonderful tomorrow, and it could well be very glam! MOOD: MODERN BOHEMIA Grey on grey makes way for a cultural big bang of colours, prints and designs. Attention is drawn to the ethnic component and the importance of tradition and things we all remember are rediscovered. Great movements from the past are exploited to create new innovations for the future. The sources of inspiration are the Arts & Crafts movement, the intellectual groups of the ’20s and ’30s and Bohemian idealism. Colours: ochre, blackberry, chocolate, mauve grey, powder neutrals and coral. FOLKLORIC MOD A vintage interlude with a step back in time to the ’60s when rebellion masqueraded under an apparently gentlemanly façade. A brilliant meeting between youthful spirit and the old guard of the establishment. It is also inspired by the movement behind British musical groups. A bit New York, a bit London, and very cool. Colours: camel, ginger, neutrals, navy blue

LADYLIKE KITSCH Not taking yourself too seriously and rediscovering the pleasure and elegance of dressing “like a lady”: straight from the ’50s when a carefree, optimistic attitude prevailed. The kitsch aspect of the trend makes everything somewhat over-the-top, making you feel a bit like a lady and a pin-up model at the same time. Dark and pensive colours are out of the window! The catwalk turns pink. Colours: powder pinks, neutral greys, almond browns, green-gold.
