Central Expwy, Suite 1200 Richardson, TX-75080 Abstract: MIMO is revolutionizing the world of 4G Wireless Broadband Communications. MIMO stands for Multiple Input Multiple Output and this new Antenna Technology allows the wireless communication standards, such as WiFi, WiMax and LTE to push up the data rates and reliability of current wireless communication networks. This talk will introduce the participants to MIMO technology, how it works and how the benefits of higher throughput and reliability are realized, by using the techniques of Antenna Diversity, Beamforming and Space Division Multiplexing (SDM). The role played by MIMO in WiFi, WiMax and LTE will be discussed, especially how single user and multi user MIMO configurations are used. Finally, the future of this technology will be discussed with focus on massive MIMO configurations. About the Speaker: Iqbal Singh Josan is the founder of training and consulting firm USPurtek LLC, which specializes in providing Professional Engineering Services to telecom operators and network equipment vendors in the domain of Wireless Broadband and Enterprise Networks. He received his M.E. and B.E. degrees in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Panjab University, India in 1985 and 1997 respectively. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Licensed Professional Engineer, and a Project Management Professional. He has 26 years of experience in the electronics and telecom industry, having held engineering and project lead positions with multinational companies in the US as well as India.
