Opening Sentence But after three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them. Revelation chapter 11 verse 11

Song ‘Jesus is Lord’ – The cry that echoes through creation; Resplendent power, eternal Word, our Rock. The Son of God, The King whose glory fills the heavens, Yet bids us come to taste this living Bread. Jesus is Lord – Whose voice sustains the stars and planets, Yet in His wisdom laid aside His crown. Jesus the man, Who washed our feet, who bore our suffering, Became a curse to bring salvation’s plan. Jesus is Lord – The tomb is gloriously empty! Not even death could crush this King of love! The price is paid, The chains are loosed, and we’re forgiven, And we can run into the arms of God. ‘Jesus is Lord’ – A shout of joy, a cry of anguish, As He returns, and every knee bows low. Then every eye And every heart will see His glory, The Judge of all will take His children home.

And though these are days of great trial, Of famine and darkness and sword, Still, we are a voice in the desert crying ‘Prepare ye the way of the Lord.’ Behold He comes riding on the clouds, Shining like the sun at the trumpet call; Lift your voice, it’s the year of jubilee, Out of Zion’s hill salvation comes. These are the days of Ezekiel, The dry bones becoming as flesh; And these are the days of Your servant David, Rebuilding the temple of praise. These are the days of the harvest, The fields are as white in the world, And we are the labourers in the vineyard, Declaring the word of the Lord. There’s no God like Jehovah, There’s no God like Jehovah! Robin Mark Copyright © 1997 Daybreak Music Ltd

Time of Confession We come to God as one from whom no secrets are hidden, to ask for his forgiveness and peace. We confess to you our selfishness and lack of love: fill us with your Spirit. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. We confess to you our fear and failure in sharing our faith: fill us with your Spirit. Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. We confess to you our stubbornness and lack of trust: fill us with your Spirit. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Offertory Prayer Yours, Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the splendour and the majesty; for everything in heaven and on earth is yours. All things come from you, and of your own do we give you.

Closing Prayer and Blessing

The Prayer Team will be available after this service. Please join us for refreshments in the Parish Centre

Assurance of Forgiveness May God who loved the world so much that he sent his Son to be our Saviour forgive us our sins and make us holy to serve him in the world, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Song For God so loved the World He gave his only Son, And whoever believes in him Shall not die, but have eternal life. 2

Action Creed Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again! We believe and trust in God the Father, source of all being and life, the one for whom we exist. We declare: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again! We believe and trust in Jesus, God’s only Son, who took our human nature, died for us and rose again. We declare: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again! We believe and trust in the Holy Spirit, who gives life to the people of God and makes Jesus known in the world. We declare: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again!

Song (During the singing of this song young people up to the age of 11 are invited to leave for their own activities in the Parish Centre)

Jesus, Jesus, Holy and anointed One, Jesus. Jesus, Jesus, Risen and exalted One, Jesus. Your name is like honey on my lips, Your Spirit like water to my soul. Your word is a lamp unto my feet; Jesus I love You, I love You. John Barnett.Copyright © 1988 Mercy/Vineyard Publishing/Adm. by CopyCare

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen.

Reading Revelation chapter 11 verses 1-14 (Page 310 after the blue tag) After the reading: Reader: This is the Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God.

Song When the music fades, all is stripped away, And I simply come; Longing just to bring something that’s of worth That will bless Your heart. I’ll bring You more than a song, For a song in itself is not what You have required. You search much deeper within Through the way things appear; You’re looking into my heart. I’m coming back to the heart of worship, And it’s all about You, all about You, Jesus. I’m sorry, Lord, for the thing I’ve made it, When it’s all about You, all about You, Jesus. King of endless worth, no one could express How much You deserve. Though I’m weak and poor, all I have is Yours, Every single breath. Matt Redman Copyright © 1997 Kingsway’s Thankyou Music
