Dance Department Information Grading and Reporting: Students are assessed through various dance experiences, written responses and presentations. Grading and Reporting: Students are assessed on the above objectives through various art experiences, written responses and oral presentations. Formative 50% (Daily Rehearsal Technique and in class assignments) Summative 40% 1st Quarter: 40% (Completed Projects, tests, self-critiques) 2nd Quarter: 20%- Tests, Quizzes, Technical and Dress Rehearsals 20%- Semester Dance Concert Homework 10% Dance Concert/Rehearsal Schedule- All Rehearsals and Performance Mandatory *January 3rd – Show 1 Lighting/Technical Rehearsal 2:30-6:00pm (PE 2B, PE 3B, PE 4B, Ballet 3B, FA 1A, FA 2A, AD 1A, AD 4A & Dance Company) *January 6th – Show 2 Lighting/Technical Rehearsal 2:30-6:00pm (PE 1A, PE 3A, Ballet 2A, Broadway 2B, FA 1B, FA 4B, AD 2B & Dance Company) *January 7th – Show 1 Dress Rehearsal 2:30-6:00pm (PE 2B, PE 3B, PE 4B, Ballet 3B, FA 1A, FA 2A, AD 1A, AD 4A & Dance Company)

I have read the syllabus which includes the information listed on the front and understand my child ____________________ ‘s role, participation and requirements within this dance class, after-school rehearsals and Semester Dance Concert. If I foresee any conflicts or concerns regarding the class requirements and rehearsal/performance schedule, I will contact Mrs. Wiggins, Ms. Jones or Mrs. Lazzaro by Friday, September 27, 2013. I understand that if this contract is not signed and returned to my child’s teacher, it will result in a homework grade of zero for this assignment and I will forfeit my child’s right to an alternate assignment for any after-school and/or Semester Concert conflicts. In order for an alternate assignment to be given absences from school/rehearsals MUST be MCPS approved and/or approved by Administration.
