VOL. 12, NO. 4

Praise Never Backs Down By Darlene McCarty From the Book: One Minute of Praise On December 22, 2003, we received a phone all that my daughter had gone into labor. Our grandson, Chase, was born (3) months premature. He only weighed two pounds and ten ounces. Of course, you know with a baby that small there are health issues because the lungs and other organs are undeveloped. We arrived at the hospital and along with our daughter, we went into the intensive care room to see our grandson. There was this tiny naked body lying there—just bones with a little bit of flesh on them and almost no muscle tissue whatsoever. He looked so lifeless. We pushed my daughter up to the side of his bed. The nurse looked at her and said, “Honey, it’s okay. You can touch him and you can kiss him goodbye.” The fear was intense. Fear so gripped my heart that I began to cry out, “God, please don’t let him die. Please don’t let him die.” Have you ever been in a situation where you can’t think of anything to say? You just begin to begin to scream and beg and try to think of the right words to break through to heaven. Suddenly, Satan said to me, “Remember, standing over your dad’s body at fourteen when you walked into the bedroom and he’d had a massive heart attack? You’re saying the same words now that you prayed over your daddy’s body then and what happened to him? He died. What makes you think this prayer is going to be any different than the prayer you prayed when you were fourteen?” Then the Lord spoke to me and said, “You have not time because time is of the essence here. You have no time to get on the phone and call for backup. You must make your choice this very minute – whether you choose fear or you choose faith – whatever you choose will be the difference between life and death.” Thank God I had enough word in me to choose faith, and Chase lived. Some of you reading this will have to make a similar choice before this day is over. It’s going to make the difference between life and death in a marriage, in a relationship, in your finances, in a job, or regarding your addictions or bad habits. There is a war going on with your spirit between fear and faith, life and death. Every time that Satan comes and reminds you of your past, you remind him of all that God has done in you since then. On December twenty second, we had a mountain. We had a choice. That mountain could overtake us, or we could come against that mountain and use the Word that had been put in us to command it to come down. On that day that mountain was defeated by the Word of God. Christmas giving opportunity!

very year Art from the Heart holds a very special Christmas performance event at Edgewood Children’s Ranch in Orlando. As part of the outreach, we provide a $10 gift card from Wal-Mart or

Target for each child who lives there. In addition, we give $100 gift cards to Wal-Mart or Target to the house leaders. We are asking for everyone’s help with these donations as it is our heart to provide each child and house leader with a gift card for Christmas. This is a very important event to AFTH and we hope that everyone will be able to participate! A list of the names of the children who are currently in residence at Edgewood, and the house leaders’ names, for whom you can purchase a gift card will be available at the studio this month. Please prayerfully consider how the Lord would have you help make the holidays a little more special for these children. More information on how to make a donation will be available soon!

Christmas Performances All AFTH classes are currently working on Christmas dances for December! During the month of December, each class will have at least one performance at a nursing home, or children’s home to share the love of Jesus during the holiday season. Please make it a priority to come to all your classes on time! Everyone will be working very hard to learn their dances and be ready for their performances. Be sure to look carefully through the Christmas schedule available this month regarding performance dates, times and locations!

HELP KEEP THE STUDIO CLEAN & FRESH As you can see, AFTH took the time and money to spruce up the AFTH Studio(s). We ask that each of you do your part to help us keep the studio clean and running efficiently. As such, do your part by: • Picking up any trash • Keeping young children from driving trucks and cars into the wall and base boards • Picking up after yourselves • Putting chairs back when finished • Treating the studio like a friend’s home AFTH has some wonderful people who will clean on a regular basis, but we need each of you to do your part to keep the studio(s) looking great!

RECITAL COSTUME DEPOSIT(s) Recital costume deposit(s) are now past due! A $40 per student / per class Recital costume deposit was due September 1, 2006. AFTH requires this deposit as we have already begun ordering costumes to e nsure they are cre ated, processed and shipped to us in time for our April Picture Week & May Recital. There are only 5 or 6 major costume companies, and all of the thousands of dance studios across the country are making their orders with this handful of dance costume companies. This is the reason orders need to be placed early. AFTH includes all classes in the annual recital. This is important to our curriculum and to our students! A $15 late fee (per student, per month that their deposit is late) will be applied to any unpaid costume deposits. In addition, you run the risk of being lef t off of our order and the distinct possibilit y of not being able to participate in Recital. If you have recently registered at AFTH, and have not spoken with anyone regarding your costume deposit(s), please contact the office to set a due date for your deposit payment.
