Just in time for the holiday season, this five-member group will provide an afternoon filled with the enchanting sounds of flute, harp, violin, viola, and cello. Their repertoire includes music written for the unique combination of flute and strings and ranges from Classical to Popular. Stations will be set up in the Annex where you can square off with your friends for a Peeta vs. Gale debate, decorate Girl on Fire cupcakes like Peeta, make a mini bow and arrow, or put on a Capital Fashion Show. Authentic book inspired snacks will be served and door prizes will be given out! Coming in costume is encouraged, but not required.

Participants must bring their own materials and quilting tools to each class. Welcome to a new beginning quilting class! You will find it fun and relaxing. All sewing in class is done by hand. Before you attend the first class, know what type of quilt you would like to make: for example, a baby quilt, lap quilt, or wall hanging. When you register, you will be given further instructions.

Here’s how “Cook the Book’ works: Cookbooks are on display at the Reference Desk. You pick a recipe that piques your interest (or taste buds). Before you leave, a library staff member makes a copy of your recipe for you to take home. Prepare your recipe at home, and then bring it to the meeting to share with the other participants. It’s that simple!

Computer Class: Introduction to Photoshop Mon., Nov. 25

Become an instant graphic artist by working with images and pictures in Adobe Photoshop. Learn how to alter images using sizing, shaping and coloring.
