Head past the 17th hole of the Bali Golf & Country Club. 4• When you reach road, veer right and stay on the path. 5• Go through 4 roundabouts; always go straight. At the roundabout with The Westin to your right, cross the street and go straight. 6• When you see a sign for Bali International Convention Centre, run into the Convention Centre parking lot through the security post. 7• At end of lot, turn left and go back to the Westin.

LOCAL RUNNING TIPS LEFT AND RIGHT: The Balinese drive on the left side of the road, so look to the right first whenever you cross the street. A further word of caution: The Balinese sometimes pass on the left—sometimes even on the shoulder—so stay alert when running.

RUN WITH THE LOCALS: When you arrive, contact STAY HYDRATED: Even when you’re slightly dehydrated (the risk of this is high in warm Bali), your running will suffer, so sip from a water bottle often during the day. When running, drink 8 ounces of water or sports drink every 15 to 20 minutes.

HEAD FOR THE BEACH: Given the dangers of the road, consider running on one of Bali’s magnificent white sandy beaches. The soft footing actually makes it

REWARD YOURSELF: The best part about a run in Bali is finishing it. Soothe your tired running muscles in one of the hotel’s two adult pools, each with its own waterfall. Or indulge in a Balinese spa treatment or massage.
