Under the banner of “Global Network to Fight Cardiovascular Disease”, a pilot project was initiated to assess prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors. Methods: A randomly derived, population-based, prospective consented cohort of 2003 community participants between 20-80 years of age free of cardiovascular disease was assessed between July-October 2013 using demographic data and interactive PROCAM (Prospective Cardiovascular Munster) 10 year risk assessment tool for myocardial infarction(MI) at IACS-CIMS(International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences, Winnipeg, Canada-Care Institute of Medical Sciences, Ahmedabad, India) initiated primary and tertiary health care settings in Western India.
