Conclusions

The new Digital Patient Journey pathway can refer potential patients directly to study sites in their geographic area and to be contacted by the study site selected. The new “Subscribe” option also allows patients to receive future alerts of educational materials or study/site information.

If a study or a site is not available, a “Subscribe Option” allows a patient to “opt-in” to receive future educational materials. A simple Patient Screener is key to “filter out” non-qualified patients. The enhanced platform will also enable prospective patients to use StudyConnect in Germany and Canada in their local languages.

Conclusions Through this new innovative Digital Patient Platform, time and cost associated with patient recruitment process are improved. With the new Referral and Subscription features, patients are more engaged as they are empowered to initiate the process.

A Patient Screener can pre-screen patients in order to refer pre-qualified patients to a study site. The innovative approach of integrating an internet tool with internal systems can effectively track digital patient recruitment status and provide metrics to measure performance and level of patient engagement.

9

To track patients from website to enrollment, analytics reports were established for performance measurement, enrollment tracking, and level of patient engagement. To expand to other regions, country-specific content was tailored to regional needs and to ensure compliance with local country regulations, language and study search support.

A patient who has contributed in this process will be more inclined to be engaged, empowered and adhere to it. 10
