GUARANTEEING CHILDREN’S FUTURES

PONTIAC SCHOOL DISTRICT PROMISE ZONE AUTHORITY SCHOLARSHIP: Up to $3000, paid in increments of up to $1500 per semester (Fall/Winter, Fall/Spring), or broken down into three equal payments in a trimester system. Promise Zone Authority Scholarship funds are applied towards tuition and fees only. (Funds cannot be applied towards boarding, meals, books, etc.)

GETTING A PROMISE ZONE SCHOLARSHIP:

What are the eligibility criteria for a student? What exactly makes a student eligible? To qualify for the Pontiac School District Promise Zone Authority Scholarship a student must: 



Live within the boundaries of the Pontiac School District. This also includes outlined addresses in Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Hills, Lake Orion, Rochester, Lake Angelus and Waterford. Graduate from one of the nine (9) eligible secondary schools within the Pontiac School District Boundary Area: o Auburn Hills Christian o Baldwin Road Church Academy o Heritage Christian School o International Technology Academy o Life Skills Center of Pontiac o Notre Dame Preparatory School o Oakland Christian o Pontiac Academy for Excellence o Pontiac High School (Those earning a GED from an authorized location within the Pontiac School District Boundary Area are eligible for up to 25% of the scholarship amount or $375)





 

Gain admission to a public or private post-secondary educational institution within the State of Michigan that is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and demonstrate that they have exhausted all other grants for tuition and fees available through federal, state and local governments, including the Federal Pell Grant Program. Complete the Promise Zone Application in its entirety. Carry a full course load (12-credit hours) 2012 Graduates
