On Thursday, July 23, 2015 at approximately 7:00 a.m. a two vehicle traffic collision on Ted Bushelman Boulevard (KY-3159) near Florence, Kentucky resulted in the death of the one of the drivers. The driver (name withheld) of a 2003 Volvo S-60 sedan was eastbound on Ted Bushelman Boulevard when he went off the right side of the road, overcorrected steering back onto the roadway in a yaw configuration and crossing into the westbound lane in the path of an oncoming 2001 Toyota Sienna mini-van operated by Stephen O’Bryan, 47 of Petersburg, Kentucky. O’Bryan was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky with reported minor injuries. The deceased was pronounced at the scene. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. Ted Bushelman Boulevard is a two lane road with a 45 mph speed limit that connects Houston Road to Aero Parkway. The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision and anticipates the road being closed until approximately 11:00 a.m. Updated information - The deceased is identified as Nicholas Wilde, 20 of Hebron, Kentucky. Next of kin has been notified. ###
