Keynote speakers Kenneth Geers (PhD, CISSP) is a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council; a Professor at the University of Kyiv, Ukraine; and an Ambassador for the NATO Cyber Centre in Estonia. Prof. Geers spent twenty years in the U.S. Government (US Army, NSA, NCIS, NATO), and was a Senior Global Threat Analyst at FireEye. He is the author of “Strategic Cyber Security”, Editor of “The Virtual Battlefield: Perspectives on Cyber Warfare”, Technical Expert for the “Tallinn Manual on the International Law Applicable to Cyber Warfare”, and author of more than twenty articles and chapters on international conflict in cyberspace. Currently, he is editing a NATO book on the cyber dimension of the crisis in Ukraine. You can follow him on Twitter @KennethGeers. Jörg Matthes (PhD, University of Zurich) is professor of communication science at the Department of Communication, University of Vienna, Austria, where he chairs the division of advertising research and media effects. His research focuses on advertising effects, the process of public opinion formation, news framing, persuasion, and empirical methods. He has published more than 70 articles in peer reviewed journals and he is currently editor of the journal Communication Methods & Measures. In 2014, he received the Young Scholar Award by the International Communication Association honouring the most outstanding research career worldwide seven years past the PhD. He is also Director of the Department of Communication at the University of Vienna.
