MARITIME FORUM Progress in data ingestion - ensuring that marine data are not lost Published on: Tue, 13/12/2016 - 07:33 A gateway will shortly be opened that allows researchers who have finished projects or public authorities who have received data from impact assessments or indeed any other holders of marine data to deliver them for safekeeping and subsequent dissemination through EMODnet for re-use by others.

The gateway will open in January 2017. A team of professionals, based in each of the coastal states of the EU will offer advice. each submission of data wil lbe tracked through the system. The aim is to make the process as easy as possible for the user and yet to include the information about the data (where and when the data were captured, data ownership, etc) that allows the data to be re-used. A meeting on 8 December 2016 discussed progress data ingestion process [1] status of facility - December 2016 [2] submission form [3]
