COURSE SYLLABUS PSYC 341 PSYCHOLOGY OF PERSONALITY
COURSE DESCRIPTION The major historical and contemporary theories of the origin and development of personality are explored, emphasizing the role of the dynamics of personality. RATIONALE This course is a systematic investigation of the development and manifestations of the human personality. This investigation is facilitated by a thorough study of the major theories and theorists in the field.

Discussion Board Forums (4) Discussion boards are collaborative learning experiences. Therefore, the student is required to provide a thread in response to the provided prompt for each forum. Each thread must be 300–500 words and demonstrate course-related knowledge. In addition to the thread, the student is required to reply to 2 other classmates’ threads. Each reply must be at least 100 words. Current APA formatting is to be used for citations within the thread, and references must be included at the end of each post.

Myers-Briggs Interactive Assignment For this assignment, the student will take the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator assessment at the website provided. After reviewing the results, the student will compose a 2-page reflection that includes the 4-letter personality type suggested to them by the assessment.
E.
Annotated Bibliography The student will select 3 full-text, scholarly (peer-reviewed) journal articles that directly relate to one or more theories from the text that you are interested in for your research paper. After reading the articles the student will write a 300–500word review of each article following current APA format.
F.
Research Paper Outline The student will submit a 2–3-page Research Paper Outline in preparation for the Research Paper. The outline must include a title page, abstract, outline, reference page, and follow current APA format.
G.
Research Paper The student will compose an 8–10-page Research Paper on his/her own theory of personality using at least 10 scholarly references. The paper will follow current APA format, and in-text citations are required. A title page, abstract, and reference page will also be required to complete the paper successfully.
H.
Exams (8) Each exam will cover the Reading & Study material for the module/week in which it is assigned. Each exam will be open-book/open-notes, contain 50 multiple-choice questions, and have a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Late Assignment Policy If the student is unable to complete an assignment on time, then he or she must contact the instructor immediately by email. Assignments that are submitted after the due date without prior approval from the instructor will receive the following deductions: 1.
Late assignments submitted within one week of the due date will receive a 10% deduction.

Assignments submitted more than one week late will receive a 20% deduction.
3.
Assignments submitted two weeks late or after the final date of the course will not be accepted.
