Akua Inks is proud to announce their first exhibition, "Pushing The Limits," an exhibition that will display works which transcend the traditional practices of printmaking. Our mission is to not only produce quality, safer materials for printmakers, but to facilitate a greater appreciation and understanding of contemporary printmaking. By expanding upon the context in which printmaking is typically viewed, "Pushing The Limits" will highlight the versatile contemporary print practices and works happening today such as mixed media prints, artists books, digital media, animation and installation.
JUROR Maddy Rosenberg is an independent international curator and artist. She is the founder and Executive Director/Curator of CENTRAL BOOKING, a two-gallery space in New York’s Lower Eastside. She has curated numerous exhibitions including, "Text Out of Context" at the Hewitt Gallery of Art at Marymount Manhattan College and "Narrative Sequences" at The Center for Book Arts in New York. She received a National Endowment for the Arts Grant for her international multi-venue curatorial project, "New York/Paris DIALOGUE Paris/New York".
COORDINATOR Susan Rostow is a New York City artist and the inventor of Akua Inks.
SPONSOR Speedball Art Products will be sponsoring this exhibition. There are no entry fees.
AWARDS Purchase Award: One work will be purchased for Speedball Art Products' permanent collection.
EXHIBITION CATALOGUE There will be a printed and online catalogue of this exhibition.
ELIGIBILITY All media, 2D and 3D which incorporate printmaking and Akua Inks are eligible.
ENTRIES Artists may submit up to three images. Images must be available for the exhibition - no substitutions. Artists will receive acceptance/rejection notification to the email provided on the entry card. Akua Inks reserves the right to disqualify accepted pieces that appear inaccurately represented in the submission photo.
REPRODUCTION Akua Inks/Speedball Art Products reserve the right to reproduce accepted entries for exhibition and other pubilicity purposes.

All works are insured while they are at CENTRAL BOOKING Gallery. Neither Speedball Art Products nor CENTRAL BOOKING assume any liability for loss or damage during shipping. Artists are encouraged to secure their own insurance to cover works during shipment.

2014 CALANDAR • March 1- Deadline for entries. Entries MUST be postmarked by this date. NO EXCEPTIONS. • May 8-10 - SHIPPED WORKS Deadline for accepted works. All accepted artworks must arrive at the gallery between May 8th & May 10th • May 8-10 - HAND DELIVERED WORKS Deadline for accepted works. All accepted artworks must arrive at the gallery between May 8th & May 10th between 12:30pm-5:30pm • May 14 - Exhibition opens in gallery • June 8 - Exhibition closes • June 9 - Begin returning works
Accepted art must be sent ready for hanging. If the piece requires specific hanging hardware, please include it with instructions for hanging. Shipped works must be packaged in reusable cartons and must arrive prepaid by May 10. Shipment must include a prepaid label for return. No carton C.O.D. deliveries. Exhibited works will be returned by the same carrier used in initial shipment.
