If I were the Prime Minister of India, what would I do to make India a super power by 2020? India is a country with great potential and capacities. If today's downhill trend continues 14 years hence, I visualize India as a land of trash, of beggars & thieves, a land ridden with epidemics. A paradise lost forever with all that is happening around us, are we downright blind or have we lost our power to think and reason? India today is rusting and crumbling. We have to wake up and mend our ways. The biggest dilemma today is our constitutional system. Our leaders do not work for the good of people, but to only increase their bank balance. A country cannot succeed when its own people do not participate in its struggle for success due to ignorance as they know nothing of the countries plans and enterprises. Mass education should be imparted to all in Politics, so that they can understand the situation and not just blindly follow their leader's words and be exploited. Education in politics should be introduced in a stronger manner from the lower classes, nation wide. This is what I would like to do as the Prime Minister in order to spread awareness. The secret to many a country's success is Honesty, and this is one important quality our country lacks. Money is needed for carrying out various schemes, & this money comes from the citizens in the form of taxes. If citizens evade from paying taxes, how can they expect India to prosper. Today dishonesty dwells in every nook and corner. As the PM of India, I will implement strong laws for punishment, for those who avoid paying taxes. I will also organize a stronger, more honest & organized police department to enforce law and order. Most of the Indians lack civic sense. They take roads & public places for granted using them as trash cans. As the PM, I would like to enforce heavy impositions on account of dirtying & damaging public property to try and achieve a cleaner and healthier country as “Health is wealth”. “Brain‐drain” is an important issue which threatens India's success. People study here with the government spending crores of money behind them and then they go abroad & work for an unknown country, helping them to prosper. If given the chance to be the PM, I would implement strict rules & prohibitions to them & reduce the outflow of Indians to other countries, such as payment of 38% of their annual income to the Indian government. No country has seen success, when her brightest youngsters have left her. Woman is the creator & nurturer of destiny. When we say that “today the status of women has risen”, have we pondered & looked into the rural sector to see the progress of women. Their condition has remained stagnant over the decades and in fact, is worsening with every passing hour. As the PM, anyone asking for dowry will be given life imprisonment, women need more education and enlightenment to get their proper and proportionate place. 33% representation to women in the legislature & parliament will be given; in order to give them a proper status and more confidence. Uniform civil code must be given for
all citizens, irrespective of community or caste. Women abstaining from education will be penalized heavily. Educating a boy means educating a single person, whereas educating a girl child means educating an entire family. Perhaps it will be apt to say that illiteracy is the sole cause of India's slow progress. As the PM, I will make it mandatory that every child, whether girl or boy, must receive minimum education up to 12th standard in Hindi and their regional language. If not followed, the person at fault If I were the Prime Minister of India, what would I do to make India a super power by 2020? will be penalized. Free education must be imparted to those below the poverty line, the money for which will be collected separately in the form of beneficial tax. Every employed person will contribute a meager amount of Re 1/‐ per month, which finally adds up to a large sum. This small sum donated will reap huge benefits. In order to become a super power, India has to advance a great deal in the fields of science and technology. In the post of the PM, I will give a lot of attention to these sectors. Our country needs more scientists & creative minds. Students will be encouraged to pursue higher studies by means of scholarships. Space science will receive a much needed boost. The IT sector will be more advanced and sophisticated & only the best will be given the opportunity to work there. These steps are necessary to set India on the path of success faster. As days pass by it is observed, that morals and values are becoming a thing of the past. Morals and values aren't style statements that come & go out of fashion. They are the sacred cords that bind our country together. As the PM I will make it my first priority to make moral science an important part of the curriculum. They should not be graded, but be given marks like any other subject of importance. It has today, in the hour of need, taken a back seat. A country with talent but no values & ethics can never prosper. I will also take care that Indian culture & traditions are uplifted and given prime attention & importance by all. Traditions & culture are the roots of our country when the roots are being lost and ignored, how can a country stand up & prosper. Today people are rejecting our culture & embracing foreign ones. A country without its own tradition has no existence. Modernization is welcomed in all fields, but not at the cost of our heritage. Rising hemlines, dipping necklines, hard rock music, rap & jazz & vulgarity is not modernization, it is stupidity. As the PM, I will ensure that Indian art, music history & traditions are introduced in all school from lower classes that they are deeply imbibed in them. Only when we understand our heritage & culture, will we be able to help our country get to the top of the rung.
I may not be capable to be a Prime Minister; I have dreams and visions for my country which are far greater than anybody else. I have big dreams and someday I will fulfill them.
