Coupled with Wednesday's and Thursday's, October 9 and 10, figures, the nuniber jumped to 8,173. Officials gave these figures as the n'umber of absences on these particular days:-Wednesday, 1,541; Thursday, 1,587; Friday, 1,718; 'Monday, 1,650; and Tuesday, 1,677. ..
