Abstract: Electromagnetic (EM) pollution has never been a concern for the designers of power distribution systems in general and of green energy alternatives in particular. However, it is admitted that power distribution systems are one of the most important man-made noise distribution systems. Their very long high-voltage transmission lines, associated to the long AC power lines inside every building, act as perfect antennas to pick up noise originating from other industrial sources (radiated perturbations). Reliability of wind generation systems, which are not (EM) polluting, requires simulation of long-term chronologically wind speed data for specified geographical wind farm sites. The results of wind data simulation, power output profile are presenting a wind model. This paper presents a simplified method for reliability evaluation of power systems with wind power sources. A case study on a test system is presented using wind data from Canadian geographic locations. Keywords: wind turbine (WT), fuel cell (FC), photovoltaic (PV), perturbations, time – series model, ARMA, reliability.
