Resume Tips: Keep in mind, one of the things we’re looking for is leadership. Under each section, name the activity/honor and when you were involved. Provide a little detail on your role in the activity and the result. Example: Cancer Research Fundraiser (11th grade). I organized 5 classmates to run a bake sale which raised $500 for the American Cancer Society.

Sample Resume: Leadership Activities Southside Automated Machines (SAM) Team: 11th and 12th grades This club focuses on robotics and computer science. In 10th grade, created an Android app capable of acting as a spectrometer, and assisted in the construction of Android controlled robots. This year, primarily focused on developing Android phone apps for use in the classroom. Served as the treasurer in 11th grade. Math Team: 11th and 12th grades Participates in various math related competitions in the region. Competitions participated in to date: Clemson Calculus Challenge Furman University Wylie Mathematics tournament Moody's Mega Math Challenge AFJROTC Summer Leadership School: Summer 2010, 2011,2012 Week long, cadet run camp meant to instruct cadets in principles of leadership through academic classes as well as hands on experience. In 2010, received the Camp Academic Award for the best score on final academic exam. In 2011, served on camp cadre staff as a Flight Cadre, responsible for guiding a group of cadets, received Outstanding Flight Award. In 2012, served on cadre staff again as Executive officer, and won Exemplary Staff Leadership Award.

Community Activities

Civil Air Patrol (CAP): 11th and 12th grades Member of CAP cadet program, assisted in volunteer activities at local airports and airshows, undertook training in locating downed aircraft, also participated in CAP cyber operations team, studying computer security. Also participated in Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, sponsored by the local CAP squadron, learning about disaster response. Upward Flag Football, Assistant Coach: Spring 2011 Served as an assistant coach for a team of 1st and 2nd graders; proved encouragement, general guidance and instruction, and helped choose recipients for awards at the end of each game for good sportsmanship, exceptional offense/defense, etc. Church Media Team Volunteer: 9th-12th grades Helped run visuals during worship services using Media Shout and ProPresenter software. Church Preschool Child Care Volunteer: 9th-11th grades Assisted in watching 3-5 year olds in the church child care ministry.
