Dear CTA, thank you for allowing us to attend your meeting and participate in your survey, Sabre’s response in red down below. Q When a passenger’s air travel itinerary involves flights by several carriers between origin and destination, how should baggage rules be applied? 1. different carrier baggage rules applied dependent upon the passenger’s itinerary; or 2. one set of baggage rules applied consistently throughout the passenger’s entire itinerary. From the technology perspective application of IATA resolution 302 would reduce development efforts for systems and carriers, and would expedite delivery of baggage requirements to/from Canada. In order to prevent conflict with the U.S DOT regulations, DOT baggage rules between US and Canada shall prevail. Q. Should carriers be required to disclose baggage rules to travelers? If so, where should this information be disclosed (e.g., on passenger receipt/itinerary, e-ticket)? Disclosing baggage allowance rules on the e-Ticket receipt provides a benefit to both the traveling community as well as carriers during their check in process.

If any questions please feel free to contact us at any time. Thanks.
