Lauderdale, Florida Description of internship: The location of the internship will be Holy Cross Hospital, 157 Main Street, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33033. [email protected]. I will work 120 hours as an unpaid volunteer (= 3 credit hours). My assignment is "TLC" which consists of assisting the nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I will shadow one or two head neonatal nurses. Duties will include assistance to the nurses as needed and some minor clerical work. I will be given the opportunity to observe and ask questions of the nurses in order to increase my knowledge of nursing. Relation of internship to course of study: My concentration is Psychology. The internship will allow for observation of topics that may be of interest to my senior thesis. The main relation to course of study is my intention to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree after graduating from the Honors College. The internship will allow me to further explore the career of nursing and decide if this is the path I intend to continue on.
