REQUEST FOR INFORMATION SILENCER/ SOUND SUPPRESSOR FOR 7.62MM SNIPER RIFLE (GALIL)
1. The Indian Army is desirous of procuring silencer/ sound suppressor for 7.62mm Sniper Rifle (Galil). The silencer/sound suppressor for 7.62mm Sniper Rifle (Galil) should have the features/characteristics mentioned in succeeding paragraphs. 2. General. A silencer/ sound suppressor for 7.62mm Sniper Rifle (Galil) which can be used with 7.62x51mm subsonic and match grade ammunition. 3.
Life of Silencer/ Sound Suppressor. Not less than 10000 rounds.

Weight. Not more than 800 gms.

Overall Length. Not more than 600mm.
6. Suppression. While being used with subsonic ammunition the firing signatures should not be audible and visible from 50 meters and with match grade ammunition the sound and flash to be reduced so as not be seen and heard from a distance of 200 meters. 7.
Range. (a)
With Subsonic Ammunition

With Match Grade ammunition

8. Sighting. The silencer/ sound suppressor for 7.62mm Sniper Rifle (Galil) should not cause hindrance in aiming through open and optical sights. 9. Handling/ Field Maintenance. The silencer/sound suppressor should be easy to mount and remove from the barrel of 7.62mm Sniper Rifle (Galil) without using any special tools. The Silencer/ Sound Suppressor for 7.62mm Sniper Rifle (Galil) should be easily maintainable and repairable using replaceable individual parts and tool kit provided with it.
