United Nations predict

A Probable Catastrophic Future!!!  By the end of 2100:  11 billion inhabitants on Earth  Earth resources sufficient to support the life of 1 Billion persons

The Vision  Urgent need of a general philosophical re-foundation. Complete the Copernican revolution • current age dominated by the Closed World philosophy

• with population > 7 billion and limited earth resources, deep depression is on going  the word “decadence” is more and more taking place • cultural production more and more targeted to expect a big Armageddon (degrow)

• we need a new vision, a new renaissance, a Space Renaissance: the world extends far beyond planet Earth! – the

Space Option

• Astronautical Humanism lacks of a unifying vision to transform the present world, as the Renaissance and the Enlightenment did with the Old World

The Vision  Expanding civilization into space: a moral issue of our time

• Our first duty is toward our children. Humanity risk to enter an irreversible path of decline  first priority: expansion into space  The economic and social case of human expansion into space • Exploiting the resources of Solar System and Astronautics, when developed by at large, will create millions of new jobs both on Earth and up there • Opening of the high frontier will generate the greatest economic and cultural revolution ever

Space Renaissance Italia The primary target of SR Italia is focused on Space Tourism. These two words represent a perfect synthesis of two fundamental concepts:  push toward a more efficient, economically sustainable, routine-type access-to-space, as the key factor for any possible space activity. Getting Aeronautics closer to Space is clearly today the main route, as the running space tourism projects are demonstrating it.  Widen the use of Space beyond scientific purposes, as we do today.

Space Renaissance must be multilanguage The various expressive forms of human culture (science, literature, music, dance, performance, etc.) are all equally important complementary languages

Enjoy The Experience Concrete diffusion among the generic public (tourists) of more or less complex and expensive direct Space experiences.

Stimulation of growth of private business-oriented entities dedicated to commercialization of capabilities  close the gap between citizen and Fourth Environment. Capabilities may be either those already available worldwide, and those that will be created in Italy or anywhere else.  public awareness and familiarization of Space Tourism in all mentioned forms. Enjoy The Experience Have a Taste!  Give to the largest possible number of persons the possibility to “taste” what would be the physical sensation and experience of the space environment in terms of gravity conditions  It is offered with the easiest and cheapest but least accurate simulation tool: general aviation or ultra-light aircraft G. Russo

Enjoy The Experience A Real Experience  Space agencies use modified civil aircraft along parabolic flight to train astronauts  It can be offered as Space Tourism predecessor; 20-second experience of physical and psychological behaviors of space bodybuoyancy conditions on board existing or newly adapted aircrafts fonte: Space Affairs

Enjoy The Experience Sub-orbital Flight

 Stimulate Italians to buy tickets for sub-orbital flights already offered on the market (see Virgin Galactic, XCOR, and others), or available in the future (HyPlane)  One or few “jumps” with some 20-second each experience of physical and psychological microgravity, as well as view of the curvature of the Earth from space altitudes

Design The Future Make it Possible in Italy 

Italian good reputation worldwide as general aviation designer and manufacturer. Aeroclub d’Italia is one of the oldest in the world. These are important conditions to develop an Italian capability to offer very cheap opportunities for experiencing the physical sensation of being under space low gravity conditions. Such a development is fully aeronautic, requiring a very small effort Major issue: definition of specific flight, safety, and authorization procedures.

Also fully aeronautics is the development of the capability to provide parabolic flight for longer low gravity periods. Possible available Italian aircrafts: Piaggio P180 Avanti and Alenia Aermacchi C27J requiring some engineering modification + activities in the frame of flight, safety, and authorization procedures. With higher altitudes, larger internal space, higher engine power, in this case the user will experience the physical and psychological behaviors of space body-buoyancy conditions.

Design The Future Space Tourism 2.0 In recent years some private enterprises have been approaching Space flight with a relatively low-cost philosophy, in great contrast with the one followed by government agencies in past years.

SPACE RENAISSANCE ITALIA 

The space tourism launched by Virgin Galactic can be easily appear poor  almost a carousel

But around the corner we have pointto-point sub-orbital flights, able to guarantee transportation from one point to another of Earth by one or more “jumps” into space

And soon after we will have hypersonic transportation services on medium range routes (5000-6000 km) along “edge of space” trajectories  urgent business travel

These two steps will then open the way toward the third phase  access to orbit to reach space hotels or other infrastructures to hold meetings, parties, ets.

These environments are grouped by category, and connected by the fil rouge of space tourism and mankind expansion in space. Project constituents: 1. Showcase: information and interactive presence on Internet, social networks, YouTube. 2. Scientific View: conferences, workshops and seminars dedicated to outreach the scientific world 3. Artistic-Cultural View: diffusion of the SR Vision on the artistic-cultural level (concerts, movies, exhibits or contests (with prizes), debates, etc. 4. Space-Prizes: for young graduating, researchers, small companies, startups, proposing innovative themes . G. Russo
