Course Description: This course is a graduate level theory-oriented course focusing on social networks, selforganizing systems, group decision making, organizational communication, and leadership. This course seeks for a thorough training and practices of organization theories. Ultimately, all students should be able to write a publishable academic research paper on organizational communication by taking this course. Class Type: SEMINAR (NOT LECTURE) Credit: 3 hours.

Purpose: To learn the theoretical development of organizational communication and to strive to apply scholaric theories to interpret real world cases

Computing Requirements: This class requires a regular use of the Internet. You need personal access to a computer connected to the Internet for this course. The instructor assumes that students have access in their living space, or use the University's public computing environment. Not having access will not be accepted as an excuse of missing assignments and discussion, even if your system is having temporary problems. Consideration will be given only when UH’s infrastructure systems have non-planned outages.

Grading Policies: Your final grade is determined by the cumulative number of points earned from assignments and class participation.
