ESC RENNES SCHOOL OF BUSINESS Survival French for Beginners 23 August – 3 September 2010 Course programme: ESC Rennes School of Business is offering a two-week course in French language and culture, aimed at International students who are already enrolled in programmes at ESC Rennes School of Business starting in September 2010. Survival French for Beginners is a course organised before the start of the semester in order to give students the edge, helping them interact better with French people and integrate into daily life in France. NB: weekly compulsory French classes are organised during the semester for all International students After a placement test, students will be taught 40 hours in small groups by a team of ESC Rennes School of Business French language and culture professors. They will develop their understanding of the French people, their way of life and traditions as well as learning the basic structures of French grammar. Students will enrich their vocabulary and take an active role in their learning experience, through role-play, workshop activities, and a variety of team-building projects which will encourage them to develop their presentation, problem-solving, decisionmaking and interpersonal skills. Excursions to various famous landmarks and local tourist centres will be organised (possible or similar destinations to be confirmed: Dinan, Fougères, etc.) as well as integration activities such as visits to local museums, how to open a bank account, etc. Access to the library, ESC Rennes School of Business e-learning platform and the internet will be provided for the purposes of student research and study outside class-time. This decision will be taken at the end of June/beginning of July 2010. Students will only be contacted if the above-mentioned course is cancelled.
