Also we would like to give a very warm welcome to new students and staff who have just joined us this term. We hope that everyone at Tenby Ipoh will have an enjoyable and memorable school term this Summer as it will be our last term at the old campus and we will be moving to Meru Raya in September 2013.

Easter Celebration

In conjunction with the Easter week celebration, the art department of Tenby International School organized a special Easter Eggs exhibition called ‘Egg City’ on the last day of the Spring term 29 March 2013. The entire city was made from empty egg shells and recycled materials, with three main scenes; the ocean scene, city scene and the egg farm scene.

Nurturing Global Players

More than thirty promising orators gathered at Tenby Schools Ipoh to participate in the Global Perspectives Debates II on Saturday, 30 March 2013 in conjunction with the Open Day for the A Levels June 2013 intake. The debates were organised by the Sixth Form Council (Cohort 7). Among the topics debated were the following: 1 “Scientists have done more for civilization than have philosophers.” 2 “The rose is better than the potato.”

The participants included teams from Tenby Schools Ipoh as well as from SMK St Michael, Ipoh, and the Methodist Girls School, Ipoh. There were also teams from Tenby International School, SM Tenby and the Tenby A Level Centre.

Cross Country

The annual Tenby Cross Country challenge was held on Friday, 29 March 2013. Parents were invited to take part in the run. There were four categories and the groups started at different times. The hometeam, Tenby International School Ipoh represented by Looi Kian Siew and Ng Chien Xen emerged as the champions while second place went to SMK (P) Methodist Ipoh and third place to Tenby A Levels helmed by Chin Wai Hoe and Ashley Wong.

Stop Press! The Rotary Debate Semi-Final

The Tenby School team qualified for the finals of the Ipoh Rotary Debates 2013 when they defeated SMK (P) Methodist Ipoh on the motion “Mobile phones should be allowed in school”. The debate was held on Monday, 15 April 2013 at SMK St Michael. Tenby Schools were represented by Ng Chien Xen, Kimberly Chen, Looi Kian Siew and Emily Ho. Kimberley was adjudged the Best Speaker of the evening. Congratulations! Tenby Schools will meet St Michael’s Institution in the finals which will be held at Royal Ipoh Club on Thursday, 18 April 2013 at 7.30pm. Good luck Team Tenby!

Grand Performance at Drama Festival

The A-Level students of Cohort 6 did the school proud when they staged their rendition of Shakespeare’s “As You Like It” at the closing night of the MOE’s North Zone Drama Festival held at the Malay College, Kuala Kangsar on 6th April 2013. The performance was attended by students of government residential schools from Perak, Penang, Kedah and Perlis. It was the culmination of many months of theatre practice for the A Level students. The performance was directed by Isabelle Lai Murdoch, assisted by How Mei Ai and Nadiah Najihah bt Kamal Ariff.

Primary & Secondary Cambridge Checkpoint 2013 The Cambridge Checkpoint 2013 exams will be held from Tuesday 23 April 2013 to Thursday 25 April 2013. There are no changes to the school hours during these 3 days. Please take note of the exam time-table attached. Tenby Schools Ipoh Inter-House Football and Netball Tournament This year Tenby Schools Ipoh is introducing a new and exciting inter-house sporting event for netball and football at The Premier Pitch, Menglembu, Ipoh. After School Art Enrichment Class

Ms Michelle Lim from the Art department will be conducting art enrichment classes for this summer term (April - July 2013) as follows:Date & Time : Thursdays, 1.40pm - 2.40pm (60 minutes) Target Groups : Years 1 & 2, KSSR 1 Dates : Ten (10) sessions starting from Thursday, 25 April 2013 Programme 1. Design & Painting of 2 Dining Chairs and a Table 2. Two Key Chains (Fish & Chameleon) 3. A Pen Holder 4. Mother’s Day Craftwork 5. Father’s Day Craftwork Students who are interested to enrol in these classes must complete the Art Enrichment Form attached and return it to the office with the payment of RM 200, at the latest by Monday, 22 April 2013.
