Principal’s Message We all had a lovely day last Thursday for our annual Fathers’ Day breakfast. A large and tasty bacon and egg roll, coffee, a chat with friends and the bridge building challenge, kept all of our dads, granddads and special gentlemen busy and happy. There was a great display of interesting bridges built with the minimum of materials and lots of enthusiasm.

Regional Athletics Carnival —30.8.13 Our Blandford PS family is very excited and proud that our PP5 relay team members: Justin, Stella, Cameron and Emily placed 2nd at the Regional carnival last week with a time of 1.00.77. The children are off to the state carnival at the Olympic Park athletics stadium early next term. Congratulations and well done to each of you and a big thankyou to Mrs Belinda Teague for managing training sessions over the past few weeks. This is our second team to state finals this year after the swimming relay team. Well done to our small school for these big results. Mrs Cooper and the infants class visited the water and sewerage works in Murrurundi yesterday as part of their study about “water”. Our students have written about their day later in this newsletter. Eliza, Stella, Seth and Charlotte are travelling to Singleton on 13th September to participate in the Premier’s Spelling Bee. Thank you to parents for transporting your children to this interesting activity. Stella, Tyler and Darcy are also competing in the Tamworth Chess festival this Friday 6th September. Good luck to you all and thanks to parents. We would not be able to offer the range of activities for our small school students without your help and engagement with the education of your children. Remember this Saturday is election day with a car wash, sausage sizzle and cake stall at Blandford PS. Please send cakes, slice, pickles and jams to school this Friday or early Saturday morning. We will be washing cars, cooking sausages and selling cakes from 9am until 12pm. It would be great to see as many families as possible supporting this fund raiser for our students. Many thanks to those who have sent in notes so far. I will be away from school as of today on long service leave. Mrs Cooper is the Relieving Principal during this time and Mrs Crowe will be teaching the Y3-6 class. If you have any queries or concerns please speak with Mrs Cooper. I will be back to begin Term 4 on Tuesday 8th October. Enjoy your holidays, as I will. Enjoy the rest of your week . Isabel Fox Principal

We turned left and followed the road to where the trucks get loaded, we turned up and followed the road, we passed horses, cows, sheep and lambs. We got there after about five minutes. We looked at where the water gets cleaned and then goes into the Pages River and then goes into a big dam that’s eight metres deep. From there we went to the sewerage treatment, we looked at the water, it didn’t stink but they pulled out undies, phones and lots of rubbish.
