GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS The Great Circle aims to publish research on all areas of maritime history. Contributors should submit an electronic copy plus any images as an email attachment to [email protected] Dr M. Authors of major articles are encouraged to use sub-headings. Manuscripts should be double-spaced and follow the stylistic conventions outlined below. Use Australian (English) spelling. Endnotes should be consecutively numbered. Any second or further references to works already cited should include the author’s surname and abbreviated title. Use of ibid. is acceptable, but not op. cit. or loc. cit. Page numbers should be preceded by p. or pp. Single quotation marks should be used, with double marks for quotes within quotes. Any tables, graphs, maps, photographs or other illustrative material must indicate their source and be of sufficient quality for reproduction. Authors must ensure that any necessary copyright permission is obtained.
