Miami Senior High School Eleventh Grade Summer Reading List and Assignment 2014-2015 Dear Students: The summer reading will be part of the first nine weeks curriculum in terms of assignments and quizzes, come ready to ask questions and discuss the works. The assignments for the novels are the same for both levels of Language Arts. Required Reading for the Honors/Regular Program: The Great Gatsby- Scott Fitzgerald Assignment: As you are reading, you are to take and keep notes about the character(s), setting(s) and theme(s) found in the novel in a composition or regular notebook. Your teachers will be assigning you a project week one of the 2014-2015 school year that is based on your knowledge of the novel. In addition to taking notes throughout your reading, you are to complete the attached Master Plot Sheet. They will be collecting your notes during week one of the school year. Suggested Reading: You may choose to read any of the following books in addition to the required reading for the summer, your teachers will discuss extra credit opportunities during the first nine weeks of the school year.
