Step 1: Identify The Boulders, Rocks, and Pebbles

Boulder

These are the major areas where you eventually will have to take action: the major piece to accomplish the overall goal (i.e. Passing Computer Applications!)

Rock

Tips for Boulders, Rocks, & Pebbles

Minor piece involved in the process of accomplishing the overall goal (i.e. Turning In Assignments & Studying for Exams)

Break this big goal down into manageable pieces!

Boulders, big rocks and pebbles all have due dates!

The task that will take between 20-60 minutes (i.e. Coming to class to accomplish all the rocks that lead to the boulder!)

Some big rocks can be completed by blocking out time in your calendar, but all should have a due date.

Remember the goal of this process!

Pebble

Every big rock won’t have associated tasks.

A timeline or calendar is developed by moving backward from the tasks to determine the duration for big rocks and boulders.
