Post secondary education in a related field and/or extensive experience in mechanical repair and maintenance a plus. Experience Requirements: • Experience in small engine, diesel, hydraulics repair and maintenance. Golf course equipment experience (reel maintenance) is recommended, however, willing to train the right individual. • Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline and diesel powered equipment, the proper methods of servicing golf course maintenance equipment, and the repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment. • Must be computer literate. • A current and valid driver’s license. Duties include but are not limited to: • Communicates any needs or problems relating to maintenance or repair of equipment with the Golf Course Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent. • Regularly inspects, diagnoses, adjusts, and repairs mechanical defects and failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment. • Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work. • Sets-up and modifies new equipment as needed. • Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment. • Keeps records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment. • Places orders for parts and supplies needed. • Removes snow and performs necessary equipment maintenance during winter months. • Performs golf course maintenance on course when needed. • Assists in maintaining a clean and well-organized shop, office space, and parts inventory room. • Other duties as assigned. • Attends and participates in staff meetings as requested. • Adheres to proper recycling and disposal of various oils, compounds, fluids, filters, etc Application Instructions: Please submit application materials (Cover Letter, Resume, References) to: Bob Begey Golf Course Superintendent Jester Park Golf Course 11949 NW 118th Ave. Granger, IA 50109 Or email at:
