  UM Mobile Email Service provides quick access to e-mail, calendar, contacts and to-do lists for mobile users with IBM Lotus Notes Traveler system. Android, Apple iOS, Nokia Symbian s60, and Windows Mobile 6 devices* are currently supported. *Remark: At this time, this service does NOT support Windows Phone 7.

Installation Instructions (Part I)    (Android, Apple iOS, Nokia Symbian s60, and Windows Mobile 6 devices)  1.

Browse http://m.umac.mo > Email Services > UM Mobile Email on your mobile device. In addition, if you can’t access above URL link, it may be caused by the 3G/Wi-FI network connection quality. You can check the network connection on your mobile device. Moreover, if your mobile device is connecting to eduroam wireless network inside UM Campus, the mobile email service can't also be used. If so, you can change to use 3G network of another Wi-Fi network, e.g. UM_SECURED_WLAN

Tap the Install link at the bottom.

Select your mobile device type.

Use the following instructions depending on your mobile device.

Installation Instructions (Part II)  (Refer to the section for your type of mobile device) 

  Android Device (2.x, 3.x and 4.x)

After you selected Android Device, the LotusInstaller.apk will be downloaded. (If you are unable to install it, please enable the “Unknown sources” settings in [Settings]>[Application]>[Unknown sources].)

After the download completed, you can install the LotusInstaller.apk.

Tap Agree to the license agreement. If the Installer does not launch automatically, you can run it manually.

4.

A wizard will now run through the setup process. Simply follow the screen instructions and then you are required to fill the server name and your user ID and password. For Server name, enter “notesmail1.umac.mo”. For User ID and Password, enter your and .

5.

Follow the screen instructions to complete the installation process.

6.

After the installation process completed, you are required to select Mail and Calendar and Contacts (Notes Local Address Book only. It does not affect your contact list in your Android device.) synching preferences and whether to use the phone's removable or internal storage*.

* Remark: It is recommended to select the storage option with the most available space. Internal storage may be faster but only choose this option if there is a fairly large amount (greater than 250MB) of space. Once you completed the configuration, you will find the following apps related to the service on your mobile devices. For more details, please refer to the Use UM Mobile Email Service with Android Device.

Apple iDevice (iPhone, iPad and iPod ‐ iOS 4.x ~ 6.x) 1.

After you selected Apple iDevice, your device will prompt you to input your user ID and password. You can simply enter your user ID and Notes WebMail password.

Then prompt you to enter your Logon Name and Email address (@umac.mo). By default, these two fields have been automatically filled. Simply verify if the auto-fill information is correct and then tap “Generate”.

On the Install Profile screen, tap Install. (If you enabled the “Passcode” on your iPhone, you are required to input your iPhone password.)

4.

On the Unsigned Profile warning, tap Install Now.

5.

On the Enter Password screen (ignore the description “Exchange Account”), you can enter your Lotus Notes Web Mail password and tap Next and then tap Done.

6.

Tap [x] icon to exit the installation webpage.

7.

Launch “Settings” and then set the default account of Contacts to the local Contacts on your device e.g. “On My iPad”. Otherwise, the new added Contacts will be added to your local address book in Lotus Notes instead of the one on your iDevice.

Once you completed the configuration, you can use the UM Mobile Email Service with the following iDevice Apps (come with iOS). For more details, please refer to the Use UM Mobile Email Service with Apple iDevice

Nokia Series 60 (Symbian OS)    1.

After you selected Nokia Series 60 (Symbian OS), the LotusInstaller.sisx will be downloaded.

After the download completed, you can install the LotusInstaller.sisx.

Select your desired language, e.g. English (US), and then tap OK.

Tap OK to accept the license agreement.

A wizard will now run through the setup process. Simply follow the screen instructions and then you are required to fill the server name and your user ID and password. For some devices, you are required to specify the access point also. For Server name, enter “notesmail1.umac.mo”. For User ID and Password, enter your and . For the access point, select your desired access point (e.g. UM_SECURED_WLAN).

After the installation process completed, you are required to select Mail, Calendar, Contacts* and Tasks synching preferences. * Remark: On some kinds of Nokia device, it may not provide the dedicated contact list for UM Mobile Email Service. If you do not want your private contact list mixed up with your local address book in Lotus Notes, you can disable the Contacts synchronization.

Once you completed the configuration, you can use the UM Mobile Email Service with the following Nokia Apps. For more details, please refer to the Use UM Mobile Email Service with Nokia S60 phone.

Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1/6.5    1.

After you selected Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1/6.5, the LotusInstaller.cab will be downloaded.
