Naval Sector Scientific and Technological Services

Presentation The present document, written by the R & D Office of University of Vigo OTRI, presents the most important technological offer available in our institutions related to the naval industry. First of all, it is de rigueur to congratulate the office for work done. This book presents a very valuable summary of the technology available in the University of Vigo specific to this sector. It includes data on R & D projects, technology services, training of the groups selected to take part in this catalogue. It important to highlight the technological and multidisciplinary R & D & i approach done in our laboratories. As well as the excellent willingness due that our research groups, they are glad to collaborate with companies and institutions that are interested in their knowledge and capabilities. The fields included in the catalogue, even though the selection of the groups is not exhaustively listed, they aim to demonstrate their expertise and their main lines of work. The samples presented, have been carefully selected by the Offices, they include such diverse aspects in R & D & i fields. The vast experience of the groups included in this catalogue, goes from the construction of innovative selfish floating platforms, to complete mock up of radar systems or remote sensing systems on ships as well as radio systems. You will also find demonstrated experiences in designing of submarine robots, modular platforms for aquaculture industry and for other purposes, complete simulation 3D modelled ships is. There are also groups that are working in predicting fishing success, optimization of fuel, improved engine performance, reduction of ships pollution. As far as the design and maintenance is concerned, we can also offer extensive experience in areas such as corrosion or weldability. And from a more general point of view, but with direct involvement in the sector, we also included in this catalogue groups with expertise on areas such as logistics, transport, or modelling mathematical with wide applications in hydrodynamic, air conditioning and ventilation acoustics, etc. Obviously, I invite you to submerge into the catalogue, which includes many more research fiels as the ones mentioned as an example. Notable successes haven been achieved by research groups included in this catalogue and we can assume that their technology is high quality. They already have a successful history of partnership with the productive, not only in Galician. I strongly encourage you to work with this book and, should some of your interests in R & D & i not be registered in it, Please do not hesitate to contact directly with our R & D Office, considering the possibility that we may have experienced researchers in other fields that may also be useful in your research. Yours faithfully.
