Using a Reader Extensions digital certificate • Reader Extensions digital certificates enable the use of the Reader Extensions service • Certificates can be issued for different usage rights ■ Possible to have a certificate only good for Digital Signatures, for example • Reader Extensions digital certificates are issued by Adobe ■ Evaluation certificates available with validity periods between 60 and 90 days ■ Partner Integration certificates issued to Adobe business partners for software development, integration and demonstration purposes with a validity period of two years from date of issue ■ Production certificates issued to customers who have purchased a Reader Extensions based product (such as Reader Extensions or Barcoded Forms) • The certificate is delivered as a PFX file and a corresponding password • The certificate is imported into the server

Importing a Reader Extensions digital certificate • Use a supplied PFX file and password to import the certificate into a server environment • Complete the process in the Administration Console ■ Settings > Trust Store Management > Local Credentials • Supply the following ■ Trust Store Type ■ Alias ■ Path to the PFX file ■ Password

Task 1: Importing a Reader Extensions credential In this task, you will perform the following • Import a Reader Extensions credential

Steps Import a Reader Extensions credential 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.

Login to the Administration Console. Select Settings > Trust Store Management > Local Credentials. Click the Import link. For the Trust Store Type, check the Reader Extensions Credential checkbox. Set the Alias to be RE_Credential. For the credential path browse to C:\AdobeTraining\Doc_Services\Reader_Extensions\Using_A_RE_Digital_Certificate and select the .pfx file. 7. Copy and paste the password from the .txt file into the Password field. The credential file and the password file will have the same name. 8. Click OK. 9. The credential should now be displayed in the Local Credentials list.

10. Logout of the Administration Console.
