He also congratulated his parents whose hard work and blessing must have played a major role in Abhinav's success. Describing the triumph of Abhinav Bindra as a landmark achievement, Mr. Sanjay Kumar said that it was truly heartening to know that the city lad, shooter Abhinav Bindra has made country proud by winning first ever Gold Medal for India in individual event at Beijing Olympics. Abhinav Bindra won the Gold Medal by scoring 700.5 points-596 in the qualifier and 104.5 in the final to achieve this honour. ` He expressed the hope that the achievement of this young shooter will wake up the city champs again. This success of Abhinav Bindra in Olympics gave a reason to smile and feel proud to every Indian.
