Why Green Dome School / Masjid Project? • The Need – In 1995 Calgary had one Islamic school for 35,000 Muslims. – In 2011 Calgary still have one Islamic school for more than 80,000 Muslims. – The current Islamic school has a waiting time for more than 3 years.

• Muslim population growth in Calgary – It is estimated that by 2015 the Muslim population in Calgary will pass 100,000. – More than 5,000 Muslim children are expected to start the elementary school within the next four years. – The public education system is already overloaded and does not provide Islamic education or Arabic and other languages to students.
