SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD. The Win a Trip to Costa Rica Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) commences January 2, 2014 at or after 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and ends March 31, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Sweepstakes Period”). Completed official entry forms can be deposited with Kaplan Representatives on on-campus, sent electronically during the Sweepstakes Period. Mail-in entries (completed official entry forms and postcards) must be postmarked or sent electronically during the Sweepstakes Period and received by 11:59:59 P.M. ET on April 4, 2014. 3. ELIGIBILITY. This Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, (collectively, the “eligible jurisdictions“), who are eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the date of entry. Entrants must be present in an eligible jurisdiction at the time that they enter and at the time the winners of the Sweepstakes is announced. Officers, directors, representatives, employees and agents of Kaplan, Inc. and StudentUniverse.com Inc. (collectively referred to as "Sponsor"), its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion, publicity, production, sponsoring, and judging agencies (“Sponsor and its agents”) and their immediate family members and household members are not eligible to enter. 4. HOW TO ENTER. You can enter one of three ways. Please indicate on the postcard if you do not want to receive information from Sponsor or its Corporate Partners regarding their goods and services. As part of your entry, you will be required to provide your first and last name, educational institution where you are a student and anticipated date of graduation, state of residence in US, zip code, phone number and e-mail address.

LIMIT ONE ENTRY PER PERSON AND EMAIL ADDRESS. Multiple entries will be disqualified. Entries are void if they contain typographical, printing or other errors. Entries generated by a script, macro, robotic, form filling software or other automated means are void. returned to the entrant. Sponsor and those working on its behalf will not be responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete misdirected, damaged or postage due entries or other mail or email or for Internet, network, computer hardware and software, electronic, phone or other technical errors, malfunctions and delays that may occur or any problems related to web site entries. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an online entry, entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email account from which the entry is made. The authorized account holder is the natural person to whom an email address is assigned by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. By entering or accepting a prize in this Sweepstakes, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the judges, the Sponsor and these Official Rules and to comply with all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations. 5. WINNER SELECTION. Three (3) potential winners will be selected from all eligible entries received in a random drawing to be held on or about April 7, 2014 in New York, NY. The drawing will be conducted by Sponsor whose decisions shall be final and binding in all regards. Potential winners will be drawn in the following order: First Prize, Second Prize, then Third Prize. Entrants need not be present to win. Limit: one prize per entrant. 6. WINNER NOTIFICATION AND VALIDATION. Winners of the drawing will be notified by email on or about 5 business days after the drawing date. An Affidavit of Eligibility and Compliance with these Official Rules and a Liability and (unless prohibited) Publicity Release must be executed and returned by the potential winner within thirty (30) days after the date the prize notification is received at entrant’s e-mail address. You are not a winner unless your submissions are validated and you are confirmed as a winner. In the event that a winner chooses not to accept his or her prize, does not respond to winner notification within the time period noted on the notification, does not return a completed Affidavit of Eligibility and Compliance with these Official Rules and a Liability and (unless prohibited) Publicity Release within thirty (30) days after prize notification is received at entrant’s mailing address, or any prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner selected at Sponsor’s sole discretion in a random drawing from the remaining pool of eligible entries received. 7. PRIZES. Three (3) prizes will be awarded: Approximate Retail Value (ARV) of all prizes being offered: $6,600 Each Winner will receive one (1) Travel voucher to use with StudentUniverse toward a Costa Rica trip covering airfare from the United States to Costa Rica and hotel room stay for 4 nights for the winner and one guest valued at up to Total ARV: $2,200. Airfare per person shall not exceed: $700 USD. Hotel stay max allowance per winner per night: $100 USD. Hotel stay max allowance per winner's guest per night: $100 USD. If chosen, the winner and guest can stay in one hotel room with the max allowance being $200 USD per night.


Travel Voucher Restrictions: Vouchers have an expiration date of March 31, 2015. Vouchers are valid toward StudentUniverse travel bookings and services only. Travel must be booked no later than 45 days before anticipated date of trip to Costa Rica. Travel Voucher booking is subject to availability, blackout dates and other restrictions. Winner and guest must travel together on same itinerary as set by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Valid photo identification (including a valid passport) is required for travel and obtaining required travel documents is the sole responsibility and at sole expense of winner and guest. Should winner elect to travel without a guest, no substitute prize or compensation will be awarded in conjunction therewith. Travel Voucher shall include airfare and base charges for hotel stay in the amounts set forth above. All other travel related expenses including but not limited to ground transportation to and from home, taxes, gratuities, incidentals, upgrades, insurance, service charges, airport surcharges, departure taxes, hotel, resort or property fees, food & beverage and personal expenses such as telephone/Internet charges, and gift shop purchases are the sole responsibility of prize winner as well as all applicable taxes on the prizes. . Sponsor shall report winner’s receipt of prize to the Internal Revenue Service via 1099 Tax Form; winner agrees to furnish all information to Sponsor and otherwise fully cooperate with Sponsor in fulfilling this reporting obligation. Winner and guest will not receive hotel award points, frequent flier miles or like “perks” in conjunction with prize travel. Any difference between certificate’s nominal value and actual costs incurred on travel will be the responsibility of winner. Any unused portion of a certificate will be lost and difference will not be compensated to winner. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period. No substitution of prizes for cash or other goods and services is permitted, except Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute any prize with prize of comparable value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. Any applicable taxes, fees and all cost not mentioned are the winner’s sole responsibility. Prizes redeemed in accordance with these official rules will be awarded. If winner is 18 or older, as required, but a minor in his or her state or province of residence, winner’s parent or legal guardian must sign all required documents. 8. GENERAL CONDITIONS. By entering the Sweepstakes or accepting a prize, entrants accept all the conditions, restrictions, requirements and/or regulations required by the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission to use winner's name, picture, likeness, address (city and state or province) and biographical information for advertising and publicity purposes, without prior approval or compensation, where prohibited by law.
