The Need Now, more than ever, your maintenance team is expected to increase effectiveness and performance with fewer members. This isn’t a momentary staffing crisis - it’s the reality of doing business in a new economy and there is a solution. With effective planning and scheduling practices, it is possible for 30 maintenance technicians to yield the effect of 47. Thousands of staff hours can be harvested from non-valueadded activities. GPAllied can show you how through one of our Work Execution Management training sessions.

The strength of the GPAllied process lies in its immediate application of lessons learned. More than a traditional training course, our interactive workshops are designed in a way manner that immediately engages the participants, requires them to reflect on their current situation, and commences with the development of an actionable improvement plan to address the opportunities.

GPAllied offers our Work Execution Management training in several formats: Work Execution Management (WEM) (16 Hours): This session is the classroom component of the Work Execution Training package. Advanced ideas and concepts related to the planning and scheduling of maintenance work are presented, with multiple interactive exercises being applied that require the participant to immediately apply the lessons learned. Our feedback from these sessions is that they are highly engaging, practical, and immediately useful to the participants. Outage! The Planning and Scheduling Experience (8 Hours): This award-winning session presented by GPAllied is a unique and interactive business simulation game that replicates a real maintenance outage with the typical problems of parts, workforce constraints, quality control concerns, contractor issues, scheduling dilemmas, work orders, safety, risk assessments and more. The game is fun; yet, it drives foundational concepts and meaningful approach strategies, and it reinforces planning and scheduling concepts and best practices. The 16-hour WEM classroom session is a pre-requisite to this session, and they are often presented back-to-back over a 3-day period. Customized Maintenance Planner Boot Camp (40 Hours): These sessions combine the best of the Work Execution Management and Outage! sessions in a manner that immerses the maintenance planners within your organization into the process. An emphasis is placed on application of the lessons learned such that each participant leaves the training with their own personal examples of excellence to include high-quality job plans, maintenance schedules, and outage plans all developed during the training session. We look at these sessions as an opportunity to set new expectations for the planners and a significant growth opportunity for the organization’s capabilities.

Following an early morning readiness check on the final day, each team begins the countdown. Simulating a live shutdown, Outage! pits team against team as they integrate work orders, parts, contractors, risks and emergencies within tight time constraints. Parts must be verified, kitted and staged. Nothing can be left to chance or costly consequences can occur, such as lengthy delays, re-work, downtime and overtime. The first team to complete the shutdown wins the Outage! simulation.
